Denmark’s Caroline Wozniacki claimed her first Grand Slam tennis title after defeating Romanian Simona Halep in the women’s singles final of the Australian Open here on Saturday.

Second seed Wozniacki, the former World No.1, prevailed 7-6 (2), 3-6, 6-4 over top seed Halep, who was bidding to win her first major title.

“I’ve dreamed of this moment for so many years. Today is a dream come true. I’m shaking right now. I’m going to cry,” Wozniacki said after the win, according to the tournament’s Twitter handle.
