Australia have further strengthened their position at the top of the ICC Women’s T20I Team Rankings, opening up a bigger gap over their rivals ahead of the 2026 Women’s T20 World Cup.
The latest annual update sees Australia lead the table with 287 rating points, extending their advantage to 12 points over second-placed England, while India continues to hold third spot with 264 points.
The rankings update places full emphasis on performances since May 2025, with earlier results carrying reduced weight, reinforcing Australia’s dominance in the shortest format over the past year.
There has been little movement among the top teams, with the top 16 positions remaining unchanged, a sign of sustained consistency at the highest level. Defending T20 World Cup champions New Zealand sit fourth with 253 points, while South Africa complete the top five with 243.
The mid-table battle remains tight. The West Indies (238) and Sri Lanka (237) are separated by just a point in sixth and seventh, while Pakistan stays eighth with 216. Ireland (200) and Bangladesh (199) round off the top 10, once again divided by the narrowest of margins.
Further down the rankings, the United States continues its steady rise, climbing to 20th after gaining points, while Germany made one of the biggest jumps, breaking into the top 30 at 29th after a significant rating boost.
A total of 78 teams feature in the rankings, all having played at least eight T20Is in the past three years. Cambodia have dropped out due to insufficient matches, while Peru are no longer ranked after an extended absence from international cricket.
With the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 set to be held in England and Wales from June 12 to July 5, the updated rankings offer a timely snapshot of team form heading into the expanded 12-team tournament, where Australia will once again start as the team to beat.
