In a recent turn of events, AC Milan have successfully roped in Ismael Bennacer in their squad from Empoli. The transfer deal between parties involved is for a reported fee of €16million.

Ismael Bennacer has now signed a five-year contract with the club after it was revealed that his former club Arsenal did not try and keep him into their team as they would have to match the offer made by Milan.

The midfielder had joined Gunners from Arles in the year 2015. However, he got to feature only in one match and was subsequently sold to Empoli after a loan was taken with Tours.

The 21-year-old player Algeria International, who had experience of representing France in the youth level matches, was in fact named Player of the Competition after he was involved in three assists in Algeria’s campaign winning season of Africa Cup of Nations 2019.

Bennacer has followed the likes of  Rade Krunic in changing sides from Empoli, who had been relegated from Serie A in 2018-19.
