India all-rounder Deepti Sharma became the highest wicket-taker in Women’s T20 Internationals, claiming her 152nd wicket during the fifth and final T20I against Sri Lanka on Tuesday at the Greenfield International Stadium.

India completed a dominant 5-0 series whitewash, successfully defending 175 to win the final match by 15 runs. Deepti finished with figures of 1 for 28 from four overs.

With this milestone, Deepti surpassed Australia’s Megan Schutt (151 wickets) after dismissing Nilakshika Silva in the 14th over. Pakistan’s Nida Dar sits third on the all-time list with 144 wickets from 152 innings.

Among Indian bowlers, Radha Yadav is the second-highest wicket-taker in Women’s T20Is with 103 wickets in 86 innings. Radha and Deepti are the only two Indian bowlers to cross the 100-wicket mark in the format.

Earlier in the series, during the third T20I on December 26, 2025, the 28-year-old achieved another historic feat, becoming the first cricketer, across men’s and women’s cricket, to score 1,000 runs and take 150 wickets in T20 Internationals.

Deepti has now featured in 133 T20Is for India and is currently ranked third in the ICC Women’s T20I all-rounder rankings with 387 rating points. Hayley Matthews of the West Indies leads the list with 505 points, followed by Amelia Kerr of New Zealand on 434.

She also reached the No. 1 spot in the ICC Women’s T20I bowling rankings during the first T20I against Sri Lanka on December 21, 2025, in Visakhapatnam, edging past Australia’s Annabel Sutherland by one rating point after returning figures of 1 for 20.

Beyond T20Is, Deepti has taken 20 wickets in Tests and 162 in ODIs, underlining her consistency across formats. Her rising stature was further reflected at the Women’s Premier League auction, where she rejoined UP Warriorz for ₹3.2 crore, the second-highest bid in league history.
