After two consecutive wins, the Indian women’s cricket team lost to South Africa by five wickets in the third T20 International at the New Wanderers Stadium, Johannesburg on Sunday.
After winning the toss, South Africa opted to field and succeeded in their plan as they bowled out India for 133 runs.
From Indian camp, skipper Harmanpreet Kaur was the top performer as she scored 48 runs off 30 balls. Other than Kaur, only Smriti Mandhana (37) and Veda Krishnamurthy (23) were able to leave a mark in the match.
In reply, South Africa chased down the target in 19 overs. Sune Luus (41) and Chloe Tryon (34) were top scorers from the Proteas’ side.
For India, Pooja Vastrakar picked two wickets, while Rajeshwari Gayakwad, Anuja Patil and Poonam Yadav took one wicket each.
