Few plant-based foods like dry fruits and nuts are fantastic to add in milk. They make milk tastier and healthier and also the kind of drink you can consume at any time of the day.

Imbuing and simmering dry fruits in milk make it  more nutritious which can be a great energy supplement for anyone who wants a quick boost of energy levels. It really super charges a person instantly – good for occasions like fasting. This milk is ideal for growing up kids or for the people looking for energy drinks. The milk can be prepared easily in few minutes. There will be tiny chewy dry fruits and nuts in this milk and that’s what makes this hot beverage different from regular ones. You can chew the figs, raisins, almonds and dates while sipping this milk. Kids would also love its taste and would never skip it.

Dates: Dates are high in fiber and a natural sweetener, so you need not add sugar to this milk. Take three or four fresh or dried dates and wash them. Chop them into small pieces so they are easy to eat while sipping milk.

Munnaka: Munnaka also called as big raisins, is very good for heart and helps in soothing dry cough. Soak four to five munnakas in water for an hour. Drain the water and squeeze them properly. Remove the seeds and put them in boiling milk.

Anjeer: Also known as dried fig, anjeer helps in digestion and prevents constipation when added to milk. Both make a great combo of nutrition. Fig also has natural sweetness, so you need not add sugar. Take two figs. Wash them thoroughly and slice into small pieces and add to boiling milk.

Almonds: Almonds can do wonders to your health. We always use this nut in milk delicacies. Hot milk containing lots of almonds (badam wala doodh) is quite popular in many places in India. Soak six to eight almonds for two hours. Drain the water and peel them. Chop them in thin slices and add to the milk while simmering.

Saffron: One or two strands are suffice for two glasses of milk which will finally reduce to one glass. Saffron is a very expensive spice but with few strands, it can do wonders. Add saffron strands into milk while boiling.

It is one of the easiest recipe to make regular glass of milk tastier and healthier. It even looks elegant when you have guests at home. All the ingredients are nutrient-rich. Add all of them to two glasses of milk and simmer for 15 to 20 minutes until the milk reduces to half. You can also add a pinch of black pepper powder at the time of serving.

This milk is a decent source of calcium and works together with vitamin D to make sure you are getting the best benefits for your bones. It is also a wonderful source of vitamin E, which contributes to better skin elasticity and protects the skin from the harmful elements of sun exposure. The real ingredients added to this milk are a good source of fiber too, so it helps keep the digestive system happy and healthy. They are also a source of protein, iron, potassium, magnesium, copper and selenium, all of which contribute to better bone and body health, fewer headaches and maintenance of healthy cells, nervous system and gives you a youthful look. They also help keep the blood pressure well regulated.

This milk is very filling and you might like to skip a meal after having it. You can exclude any dry fruit you do not have or you do not like as well and decrease the quantity as per your liking. You can also skip saffron if you desire.
