US Assistant Secretary of State Nisha Biswal on Friday apologised to Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan after he revealed on microblogging website Twitter that he was detained by the US Immigration Department in Los Angeles airport.

"Sorry for the hassle at the airport, @iamsrk – even American diplomats get pulled for extra screening!" Biswal who is the assistant secretary of State for South and Central Asia wrote in reply to SRK’s tweet.

Earlier, King Khan said that getting detained "every damn time really sucks". However, on a funnier note he added that he caught Pokemons at the airport.

"I fully understand and respect security with the way the world is, but to be detained at US immigration every damn time really really sucks," SRK posted.

In another tweet he wrote, "The brighter side is while waiting caught some really nice Pokemons."

This is not the first time that the US Immigration Department has detained the star. In 2012, while Shah Rukh was on his way to address students at Yale University, he was detained for 90 minutes at the White Plains airport near New York. In 2009, he was questioned for two hours at Newark airport and was released after the Indian embassy intervened.
