Mumbai, 24 October: The Sensitive Index of the Bombay Stock Exchange today crossed the 21,000 mark for the first time in almost three years, in early deals, but the enthusiasm faded out in the afternoon and the index closed 42 points down at 20,725.43. The Sensex was last above 21,000 level on 8 November 2010.
Meahwhile, Jet Airways’ share slipped to Rs 325, down 6.4 per cent on the Bombay Stock Exchange in early deals. On the National Stock Exchange, it recorded a low of Rs 325.05, down 6.4 per cent. The Jet share closed at Rs 337.20, down 2.41 per cent on the BSE and at Rs 340.50, down 1.70 per cent on the NSE. TCS, Reliance Industries, Wipro and Infosys were the biggest drag on the index. Coal India, Jindal Steel and BHEL were among the major losers as 19 shares under Sensex declined. SNS
