Selecting a PAP device is no longer as simple as choosing between a CPAP and a BiLevel machine. Modern devices now offer multiple therapy modes designed for different respiratory conditions, making it important to understand what each model is intended to do before making a purchase.
Oxymed’s latest 2.0 PAP lineup consists of four devices—SleepEasy 2.0, AirSmart Auto 2.0, AirSmart ST25 2.0, and AirSmart ST30 2.0. While they look similar externally and share several hardware upgrades, the therapy capabilities of each model are quite different.
What Has Changed in the 2.0 Series?
Before looking at the individual models, it’s worth noting that Oxymed has upgraded the entire product range.
Every machine now features a redesigned three-button interface with dedicated Therapy Start/Stop and Home buttons alongside the rotary navigation dial. The humidifier is now integrated into the main unit, making the overall design more compact than the previous generation.
All four devices also include a built-in SD card capable of storing approximately two years of therapy data. Cloud connectivity has been simplified through direct Wi-Fi setup, while the display interface has been refreshed with a cleaner design.
Most models are offered in both Single Pack and Tripack configurations. The Tripack version includes an Airtel 4G SIM slot for cloud synchronisation, a wireless Bluetooth pulse oximeter for SpO₂ monitoring, and a heated breathing tube to reduce condensation inside the tubing.
SleepEasy 2.0 vs AirSmart Auto 2.0
These two machines are designed primarily for Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) patients. The SleepEasy 2.0 offers two therapy modes—Fixed CPAP and AutoCPAP—with a pressure range of 4–20 cmH₂O. It is best suited for patients who simply require standard CPAP therapy.
The AirSmart Auto 2.0 builds upon this by increasing the pressure range to 4–25 cmH₂O while adding Fixed BiLevel and Auto BiLevel modes. These additional modes provide separate inspiratory and expiratory pressures, making the machine more comfortable for patients who require higher pressures or have difficulty tolerating conventional CPAP therapy.
The SleepEasy 2.0 is priced at ₹39,500 for the Single Pack and ₹46,000 for the Tripack. The AirSmart Auto 2.0 is available at ₹47,750 for the Single Pack and ₹54,000 for the Tripack.
ST25 2.0 vs ST30 2.0
Unlike the first two models, the ST25 2.0 and ST30 2.0 are designed for patients requiring advanced respiratory support rather than routine sleep apnea treatment.
Both devices include Spontaneous (S), Timed (T), and Spontaneous/Timed (S/T) ventilation modes. These are commonly used in conditions such as COPD, Overlap Syndrome, Neuromuscular Disorders, Obesity Hypoventilation Syndrome, and selected Central Sleep Apnea cases, depending on the physician’s recommendation.
The ST25 supports pressures up to 25 cmH₂O and introduces Volume Assured Technology (VAT) in its Tripack configuration, allowing clinicians to set a target tidal volume while the machine automatically adjusts pressure support to help maintain ventilation.
The ST30 expands on these capabilities by increasing the maximum pressure to 30 cmH₂O and adding Pressure Control (PC) mode. It also combines CPAP, AutoCPAP, Auto BiLevel, S, T, S/T, VAT, and Pressure Control into a single device, making it the most comprehensive model in the range.
The ST25 2.0 is priced at ₹51,000 for the Single Pack and ₹57,750 for the Tripack, while the ST30 2.0 is available exclusively as a Tripack at ₹62,500.
Which Model Offers the Most Features?
From a feature perspective, each step in the lineup adds new therapy capabilities.
– The SleepEasy 2.0 focuses purely on CPAP therapy.
– The AirSmart Auto 2.0 introduces automatic and fixed BiLevel modes.
– The ST25 2.0 expands into respiratory ventilation by adding S, T, S/T and optional VAT therapy.
– The ST30 2.0 combines all of these features while adding Pressure Control mode and extending the pressure range to 30 cmH₂O.
Rather than replacing one another, the four devices are designed to address different clinical requirements.
Which Oxymed PAP Device Should You Buy?
For patients prescribed conventional AutoCPAP therapy, the SleepEasy 2.0 remains the most economical option.
Those who require BiLevel therapy should consider the AirSmart Auto 2.0, while patients who need advanced respiratory support will benefit from the additional ventilation modes available on the ST25 2.0 or the ST30 2.0.
Ultimately, the choice depends less on the number of features and more on the therapy prescribed by the treating physician. By offering four distinct models with progressively advanced capabilities, Oxymed has created a PAP portfolio that caters to a broad spectrum of sleep and respiratory care requirements.
