Today, the business of contemporary media is unique, global, and diverse. With so much to consume across a range of platforms on a daily basis, it is almost clear that staying abreast with the rapidly evolving media consumption needs is the best way to stay ahead of the curve. After all, it is all about creating and not chasing headlines while understanding what tempts the increasingly media-saturated society. One such web media maestro who has decoded the new-age media needs with his fresh vision and creativity is Mumbai-based director Vedd V Rawtaani.

Promo editor of Ranveer Singh-starrer Gully Boy, Vedd V Rawtaani is the first member of his family to embrace the world of filmmaking. Forever fascinated with performing arts right from his childhood days, he has always had immense love for acting, writing, and directing. A 2015 batch Whistling Wood graduate, Rawtaani was the youngest student in his batch to be chosen for specialization in the field of direction.

A keen observer of real-life happenings, the directorial prodigy believes that the real mantra of success lies in continually creating, improvising, and evolving.

Being immersed continuously by the ideas of the creation of content is how one should aim at living, according to Rawtaani. Staying close to these principles in his career span too, Rawtaani, along with Prasun, formed a company called Filmi Fiction in 2016 intending to create original fictional content in the form of web series. Improvising in his art of direction from the tender age of 13, Rawtaani believes in never wasting a single moment not doing what you love.

When asked about what really inspires him in the field of direction and how can one excel in it Rawtaani says: “I have always been fond of direction. I love living in an age of really great visionaries who are at the top of their directorial game which is a genuine learning experience for new directors like me. Be it Mahesh Bhatt, Vikram Bhatt, Mohit Suri, Nitesh Tiwari, Rajkumar Hirani, or Rohit Shetty, I love how today’s directors know what audience wants and they deliver just that.”

A real star is not only someone who produces successful stints one after the other but someone who realizes their true potential and spends every day honing their skills for the love of their audiences.
