Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Education’s higher education department Armstrong Pame on Saturday shared the inspiring journey of developing critical infrastructure in remote regions of Nagaland, Manipur, and Assam.
Pame, who was at Delhi University’s Deen Dayal Upadhyaya College’s annual cultural festival MEIRAANG 2026, urged the youth present on the occasion to take ownership of their choices and strive to contribute meaningfully to society.
He encouraged students to dream big and achieve their goals by dedicating themselves fully and giving their best efforts.
Organised by the Northeast cell of the college, MEIRAANG 2026 is celebrating the Vibrant spirit of North Eastern region of the country.
The morning session saw students competing in Folk Singing and Painting competitions, showcasing a high level of artistic talent.
During the midday break, the Northeast Food Fest became a major attraction, offering attendees and students a rare opportunity to savour authentic regional delicacies and traditional flavours of North East India.
The senior official encouraged students to live in harmony, fostering mutual learning and exchange of cultural diversity between students from the Northeast and those from other regions.
Pame, popularly known as ‘Miracle Man of India’, was the Chief Guest on the occasion. A 2009 batch IAS officer from Manipur, he is well known for building a 100-km “People’s Road” In the Northeast.
In her welcome address, Professor Rajkumari Sanayaima Devi emphasised the significance of MEIRAANG’26 in fostering inclusivity and promoting cultural appreciation within the university space.
Principal Professor Hem Chand Jain encouraged the audience to visit the Northeast at least once in their lifetime to truly experience its culture and natural beauty.
