Youth Congress files complaint against Malayalam actor for insulting deceased leaders

Malayalam actor Vinayakan has sparked a controversy once again by making abusive remarks against several prominent deceased leaders, including veteran Communist leader VS Achuthanandan.

Vinayakan, who had posted a Facebook post insulting Oommen Chandy after his death, has also made similar comments about VS Achuthanandan’s death.

The post that begins with ‘My father also died, Comrade VS also died, Gandhi also died…’, describes the deaths of Nehru, Indira Gandhi, Rajiv Gandhi, K Karunakaran, George Eden and others in this way (Ente thanthayum chathu, VSum chathu, Gandhiyum chathu , Nehruvum chathu……., Ninte Ammete Nayaru Chandy anelu Ayalum chathu, chathu, chathu).

Vinayakan was heavily criticized by Congress handles after he raised slogans on the streets while paying his last respects to veteran communist leader V S Achuthanandan. He paid last respects to Achuthanandan in the form of slogans. The other day, a video of Vinayakan raising slogans while paying his last respects to VS. Achuthanandan went viral.

Following this, there was a huge cyber attack against Vinayakan, referring to the abuse he hurled on Oommen Chandy after his death. In response to this, Vinayakan shared a post on Facebook insulting deceased political leaders.

Apart from former chief minister V S Achuthanandan, who passed away the other day, Vinayakan shared the post in foul language, mentioning the names of Mahatma Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru, Indira Gandhi, Rajiv Gandhi, K. Karunakaran, Oommen Chandy and George Eden. He posted this alongside a picture of him posing with his pet dog.

Youth Congress Ernakulam District President Sijo Joseph has on Thursday filed a complaint with the Director General of Police (DGP) against actor Vinayakan for allegedly making a Facebook post insulting VS Achuthanandan and other deceased leaders and sought action against him.

Vinayakan had made headlines in 2023 when, after former chief minister Oommen Chandy’s death, he posted a live video where he questioned the government’s decision to declare a three-day mourning and holiday as a mark of respect. He had also demanded to know the “significance” of Oommen Chandy. Following this, a police case was registered against him.
