A youth was arrested by the South Police Station team and the surveillance unit in Firozabad for making a fake bomb threat while falsely claiming to be a member of the terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Taiba, police said on Thursday.

According to SP City Ravi Shankar Prasad, on the night of November 10, the accused had called the police emergency number (112) and informed them that bombs would explode in the city every hour. He introduced himself as a member of Lashkar-e-Taiba.

Taking the threat seriously, police officials immediately launched an investigation and heightened surveillance across the city. However, during the inquiry, the caller switched off his mobile phone, making it difficult to trace him.

After an extensive search, police teams were able to trace the suspect to Suhag Colony. The accused, identified as Aakash Tomar, was arrested on Wednesday evening. The mobile phone used to make the hoax call was also recovered from him.

Police confirmed that the call was a deliberate attempt to mislead law enforcement and spread panic. Legal action has been initiated against Aakash Tomar for giving false and objectionable information to the police, and he has been sent to jail.
