Cent percent voting before 10 AM in naxal area booth in MP
A polling booth in naxal affected Balaghat Lok Sabha constituency of Madhya Pradesh registered 100 per cent voting before 10 AM on Friday in the first phase of Lok Sabha polls.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has announced an ex gratia of Rs 25 lakh each to the families of the two jawans from the state who were killed in a Naxal attack in Dantewada.
CM Yogi Adityanath expressed grief over the death of police personnel in the Naxal attack on Sunday and said the state government was with them in this hour of crisis.
An ex gratia of Rs 25 lakh has been given to families of Arjun Rajbhar of Ghazipur and Ravinath Singh Patel of Varanasi, a UP government spokesperson said.

Besides, the chief minister promised to provide government job to one member each from both families, the spokesperson added.
Seven police personnel including Rahbhar and Patel were killed when Naxals carried out a landmine blast on Sunday. A joint team of the Chhattisgarh Armed Force (CAF) and the District Force (DF) was patrolling the Cholnar-Kirandul road to provide security to trucks carrying construction material for road works between Kirandul and Palnar villages.
DIG (Dantewada Range) Ratan Lal Dangi had said the Naxals triggered the blast between Cholnar and Kirandul villages when the joint team, travelling in an SUV, was escorting a vehicle carrying material for road construction work.
The ultras also looted the weapons of the police personnel, he said, adding that reinforcement was rushed to the spot soon after the incident.
