Important information has emerged regarding the long-debated cabinet expansion in Uttar Pradesh. Sources indicate that the Yogi Adityanath cabinet expansion is expected on May 10. Six new ministers could be sworn in during this period.

According to sources, potential new faces include Krishna Paswan, Pooja Pal, Manoj Pandey, Bhupendra Chaudhary, Ashok Kataria, and Romi Sahni.

The Uttar Pradesh cabinet currently has 54 ministers, while constitutional provisions allow a maximum of 60 ministers in the state. Consequently, six positions remain vacant, which could be filled through this expansion.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath met Governor Anandiben Patel on Saturday evening. However, it was described as a formal courtesy visit.

During the meeting, the Chief Minister presented the Governor with the book “Concept of Indian Knowledge Tradition,” written by Lalchand Ram.

Sources say that along with the cabinet expansion, major changes may also be made at the organizational level. Previously, discussions about cabinet expansion intensified in April, but the decision was postponed at that time.

It is now believed that with the 2027 assembly elections in mind, the BJP government is preparing to strike a balance at both the organizational and power levels.
