A woman, who aspired to make a career as a playback singer, was allegedly gang-raped by three people after they lured her on the pretext of introducing her to a music composer, police said on Sunday.
The incident occurred on September 10 in a hotel in Bhubaneswar.
Three accused persons including a caretaker of the hotel located at Chandrasekarpur area of the city, were arrested after the rape survivor lodged a complaint.
The arrested persons had given her soft drinks laced with sedatives. After she lost consciousness following the impact of the intoxicant, they committed the rape, police said quoting the contents of the victim’s complaint.
The accused and the victim were medically examined.
Later the perpetrators of the crime were remanded to judicial custody after a local Court rejected their bail application, police added.
