Pakistan violated ceasefire in the Krishna Ghati sector along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu-Kashmir on Thursday, 8 February, which left a 45-year-old woman dead.
According to the Indian Army, the Pakistani Army resorted to unprovoked and indiscriminate firing and shelling in the evening at around 4.20 pm in the sector located in Poonch district.
Indian Army is retaliating strongly to the violation.

The woman died in Balnoie in the KG sector when mortar shells fell on the hamlet.
This is the second violation by Pakistan in as many days. On 6 February, the Pakistani forces had fired mortar shells in Tarkundi and Manjakote blocks in Bhimber Gali sector in Rajouri district. Indian forces retaliated in equal measure to the unprovoked shelling and firing from the Pakistani side.
Pakistani forces used small arms, automatics and mortars to target defence and civilian facilities.
On Sunday, Pakistan Army had targeted an Indian Army post in the same sector, killing four soldiers including Captain Kapil Kundu.
The death of the woman today takes the toll to 19 people since 1 January this year. The number includes 9 civilians. Over 75 people have been injured in Pak shelling this year.
Pakistani troops violated the ceasefire agreement with India 834 times on the international border and the LoC in Jammu and Kashmir in three years, killing 97 persons and injuring 383 others, Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti had told the J-K Assembly on Monday.
