Woman among four LeT terrorists arrested in Kashmir

In a major breakthrough against terrorist infrastructure in North Kashmir, a woman among four terrorists was arrested by security forces that, on Tuesday, busted a LeT terror module.

Among those arrested are two active LeT terrorists and their two important associates, including a woman associate. They were nabbed in Bandipora.

Incriminating materials, huge cache of arms and ammunition and material for preparing IED has been recovered from their possession, thereby averting a major tragedy. The terrorist module was being operated from Pakistan occupied J&K.

Bandipora Police along with 13RR of the Army and CRPF, during a cordon and search operation launched at Gundbal Nursery, arrested two active terrorists linked with the proscribed terrorist outfit LeT. They have been identified as Musaib Mir @ Moya resident of Rakh Hajin and Arafat Farooq Wagey @ Dr Adil resident of Gulshnabad Hajin. The joint party also arrested their two important terror associates identified as Imran Majeed Mir @Jaffar Bhaie resident of Wangipora Sumbal and Suraya Rashid Wani @Senty @Tabish resident of Wahab Parray Mohalla Hajin alongwith two hand grenades and other incriminating materials.

Arms and ammunition including one AK-47 rifle, one AK-56 riffle, 4 AK series magazines, live rounds, RDX powder, nails and ball bearings, batteries 9 volt, detonators, IED mechanism circuit, remote control, loose wire and iron pipes etc have been recovered from the possession of the arrested terrorists.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the busted terrorist module was being handled by LeT terrorist commander @Samama @Babar from PoK. The module was directed to carry out substantial attacks on civilians and security forces to instil fear in the minds of general public, police said.

They were also tasked to carry out a powerful IED blast at any crowded public place to cause maximum civilian casualties thereby averting a major tragedy, police added.
