Sensex surges more than 700 points led by gains in financial stocks
The BSE Sensex on Thursday was trading at 73,755 points, up by 758 points or 1.04 per cent, led by gains in the financial stocks.
The NDTV on Monday said that it, along with its promoters, will fight tirelessly against the witch-hunt by multiple agencies.
“NDTV and its promoters will fight tirlessly against this witch-hunt by multiple agencies,” it said in a statement minutes after the CBI searched the residence of its founder Prannoy Roy in New Delhi and three other locations.
“We have one message to those who are trying to destroy the institutions of India and everything it stands for: We will fight for our country and overcome these forces,” it said, adding, “We will not succumb to attempts to blatantly undermine democracy and free speech in India.”

According to reports, the CBI searched the residence of NDTV founder Prannoy Roy in Delhi and three other locations for allegedly causing losses to a private bank.
The CBI has registered a case against Roy, his wife Radhika and RRPR Holdings for allegedly causing losses of Rs. 48 crore to ICICI Bank, CBI sources were quoted as saying by a news agency.
