Five leaders – Dilip Ghosh, Ashok Kirtania, Kshudiram Tudu, Agnimitra Paul, and Nisith Pramanik – were sworn-in as ministers alongside Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari in the newly formed BJP government on Friday.

Ghosh has been given the charge of Panchayat and Animal Resources Development, while Agnimitra Paul has been allocated the Women and Child Welfare Ministry.

Ashok Kirtania will be the new Food Minister and tribal leader Kshudiram Tudu will handle the Backward Classes Welfare ministry.

Nisith Pramanik has been given the charge of North Bengal Development, Sports and Youth Welfare.

The portfolios were allocated following the first administrative meeting of the new government.

According to sources in Nabanna, the Chief Minister also delivered a strong message on governance and administrative priorities during the meeting.

He reportedly stated that corruption allegedly entrenched over the past fifteen years must be dismantled at the earliest.

Strict action has been directed against alleged irregularities linked to coal, cattle and sand smuggling, along with corruption in tribal welfare-related sectors.
