Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, stated that the impact of the revolutionary ‘Voter Adhikar Yatra’ launched in Bihar will resonate across the nation.
Addressing a massive public gathering in Arrah, Bihar, on Saturday, he emphasised that movements that start in Bihar tend to evolve into nationwide struggles. He added that the ‘Voter Adhikar Yatra’ movement will continue to grow and spread across the country.
Rahul Gandhi, encouraged by the overwhelming public support, said that ‘vote theft’ is nothing less than a theft of citizens’ rights and their future. He praised the people of Bihar for showing that they would not remain silent if their rights were stolen.
He criticised the central government for depriving the youth of opportunities by privatising the public sector and introducing schemes like Agniveer.
“Narendra Modi’s government is an Adani-Ambani government, and as a result, they don’t want the voice of the poor to be heard. But the INDIA Alliance will not allow that. The voice of the poor will resonate across the country, and in Bihar, not a single vote will be stolen,” he added.
Earlier, as the Yatra reached Arrah, workers from the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) waved black flags to protest the alleged derogatory remarks made about Prime Minister Modi’s mother in Darbhanga.
On the 14th day of the ‘Voter Adhikar Yatra’, Samajwadi Party Chief Akhilesh Yadav also joined INDIA bloc leaders.
Addressing the gathering, he said, “Everyone expected that the Election Commission would act impartially, protect our voting rights, and safeguard the Constitution. But the way the Election Commission is working in collusion with the BJP, it seems this is not the Election Commission, the BJP has turned it into a ‘Jugaad Commission’.”
He congratulated the people of Bihar for their overwhelming support of the Yatra and expressed confidence that the BJP would be driven out of Bihar.
“We removed the BJP from Awadh, now it will also be removed from Magadh,” he declared.
Akhilesh Yadav further praised Tejashwi Yadav, stating that during his brief tenure as Bihar’s Deputy Chief Minister, he had successfully provided jobs and employment to the youth.
“This time, when Tejashwi Yadav will be in power, the migration of unemployed youth will stop, and instead, the BJP will migrate from Bihar,” he added.
RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav described the ‘Voter Adhikar Yatra’ as a historic journey that had received the support of millions of people. He emphasized that the people of Bihar are now aware and know how to protect their votes.
He also stated that the presence of Akhilesh Yadav at the Yatra had strengthened their resolve.
