Vice-President extends greetings to ITBP on 64th Raising Day

Vice-President CP Radhakrishnan today extended greetings to the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) on their 64th Raising Day, praising the force’s unwavering commitment to safeguarding the nation’s borders.

“On ITBP Raising Day, I salute the brave heroes of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police who stand as the first line of defence along our Himalayan frontiers,” Radhakrishnan said in a post on X.

The Vice-President lauded the ITBP’s tireless vigilance, humanitarian service, and dedication, saying these qualities inspire pride and confidence in the strength and security of India.

“Since its inception, ITBP has exemplified courage, discipline and unwavering commitment to safeguarding our nation’s borders and people,” Radhakrishnan added.

The ITBP was raised on October 24, 1962, in the aftermath of the war between India and China.

The force guards the 3,488 km-long Line of Actual Control (LAC) between India and China and has been instrumental in maintaining the security of the nation. ITBP personnel have also participated in various humanitarian missions and disaster relief operations, earning them recognition and accolades.

The ITBP’s bravery and dedication serve as an inspiration to the nation, and their contributions to national security are truly commendable.
