With reports of clashes and incidents during ongoing Kanwar Yatras in Uttar Pradesh, Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) has now decided to engage its cadre for protecting the Kanwariyas from anti-social elements.
After the appeal of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the VHP said that during the Kanwar Yatra, it will deploy Bajrang Dal workers who will keep an eye on the outside elements on the main routes of the yatra. The Parishad claims that this will also help the police in the smooth conduct of the yatra.
According to the VHP, Bajrang Dal workers have been asked to set up Bhandara(community kitchen), health camps, service centres, and rest centres on the routes of Kanwar Yatra.
VHP national spokesperson Vinod Bansal gave this information here on Tuesday and said that Bajrang Dal workers have been given the responsibility to keep an eye on the Kanwar Yatra and identify the outside elements involved in creating trouble, and inform the police. The workers have been asked to exercise complete restraint during this process.
The VHP has taken this step after the statement of CM Adityanath, in which he had urged the social organisations to keep an eye on the anti-social elements marring the atmosphere during this religious yatra, and if any information is received regarding this, then immediately, the administration should be informed.
The CM had also said that a conspiracy is being hatched to defame this religious yatra, so ”we have to be more alert this time, and in this Kanwar Sanghs and various social organisations should also fulfill their responsibility.”
The VHP believes that efforts to spoil the atmosphere of Kanwar Yatra are continuing. Before Uttar Pradesh, the Uttarakhand government had also launched Operation Kalanemi to identify those vitiating the atmosphere during Kanwar Yatra, and 300 people have been detained during the process.
