Sadhus and saints at the Magh Mela in Prayagraj are expressing anger over the continued attacks on Hindus in Bangladesh and are demanding government intervention in the matter.
In this connection, a special ritual was performed at the Magh Mela in Prayagraj on Sunday, seeking protection for Hindus in Bangladesh.
A special Vedic ritual and Mahayajna were performed at the camp of Shankaracharya Swami Shri Adhokshajanand Devteerth Ji Maharaj of Govardhanpeeth, located on Triveni Marg.
During this time, 51 Vedic scholars performed the special Vedic ritual and Mahayajna.
Shankaracharya Swami Shri Adhokshajanand Devteerth Ji Maharaj of Govardhanpeeth said it was the duty of all to protect the minority Hindus of Bangladesh, as they belong to Sanatan Dharma and are ‘our brothers and sisters’, adding that their safety was a matter of serious concern.
He said the Indian government should protect these minority Hindus, bring them to India, and ensure their safety, while urging the international community to take strict action against Bangladesh for the persecution of this community.
