Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw has unveiled enhanced passenger facilities at railway stations in 65 small and medium towns under the North Western Railway zone.
The minister unveiled the facilities at a ceremony held at the Khatipura station here, connecting other stations online. The new works for extended facilities included the extended platforms, provision of proper shade-cover over platforms, properly marked passenger designated areas and an integrated passenger information system.
Vaishnav also launched the initiative of providing the printed linen blanket covers to all passengers travelling in the air-conditioned coaches. He launched this initiative by giving the covers for passengers of the AC coach of the Jaipur-Asawara-Ahmedabad train at Khatipura here.

The Lok Sabha member from Jaipur, Manju Sharma, Rajya Sabha MP Ghanshyam Tiwari and Rajasthan MLA Kailash Varma were present.
At the function, Sharma reiterated the Indian Railways’ resolve under PM Narendra Modi’s leadership to make rail journeys of common men more comfortable.
He also attended a seminar on “Sankalp of the Atma-Nirbhar Bharat.” In his address, the Union Minister praised Prime Minister Modi’s vision and leadership, from the challenging phase of the COVID-19 pandemic to the current global scenario marked by terrorism, unrest in various regions, and economic crises.
He said that by prioritizing the interests of the lower and weaker sections as well as the middle class, the PM is leading the country on the path of self-reliance.
