Uttarakhand govt to put Waqf Board, occupants of enemy properties on radars

The Uttarakhand government will put the State Waqf Board-acquired lands and occupants of enemy properties on radar. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami directed his senior officials to track and review records of properties acquired by the Waqf Board in Uttarakhand.

Speaking to senior officials in a meeting on Monday Dhami instructed Uttarakhand district magistrates to accelerate the campaign to clear encroachments from government land and track agencies and organisations trying to grab land in the state. “Constant and regular reviews of the registrations of properties belonging to the Waqf Board must be done by the concerned officials in their respective areas. Details and information of these properties provided on Umeed Portal must be verified regularly,” said the Chief Minister.

The Chief Minister instructed officials to remove illegal encroachments on the enemy properties located in the state. He asked the officials to find the antecedents of all persons sitting on the enemy properties across the state. He also directed them to demand all legal documents from the encroachers on enemy property. “If not satisfied with the papers provided by the persons occupying enemy properties, the officials must take necessary legal steps with immediate effect.

Dhami stated that weapon licenses of individuals coming from other states must be verified and people having criminal backgrounds should also be identified with every details pertaining to their licenses. Dhami asked officials not to let free persons havin dubious records as to their ownership of weapon license.

He ordered the officials to consistently inspect and monitor Common Service Centers to identify ineligible individuals availing benefits of government schemes through fake ration cards. Chief Minister directed the officials to intensity verification drives maintaining effective surveillance on suspicious activities.
