Uttarakhand CM Dhami will recommend CBI probe in UKSSSC paper leak

Uttarakhand’s question paper leak protest on Monday took a turn as Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami surprisingly visited the agitating youths and announced to recommend CBI probe and withdraw cases slapped against the agitating students.

He also assured the protesting students and unemployed youths to take adequate decision on their demand for quashing the examination since the matter was being probed by the SIT.

The untiring statewide protests against paper leak in Uttarakhand Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UKSSSC) examination on September 21 took a twist on Monday when chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami made his surprise visit to the agitators at Dehradun Parade Ground and announced that he will recommend CBI probe in the matter.

Chief minister assured the agitating students and unemployed youths to withdraw cases filed against them by the police as he wanted them to prepare for the exam and reappear in future recruitment examinations.

Speaking to the paper leak agitators at Parade Ground Chief Minister said “recent case of question paper leak that came to the light is already under investigation by the SIT in the supervision of a retired High Court judge. The committee has begun its probe. However, since the youth are still demanding CBI investigation we will recommend for the same. There will not be any obstacle in this.”

Expressing his solidarity with students and those who appeared in the UKSSSC examination where paper leak examination Dhami said “this conversation could have taken place at my office but for the difficulties faced by the peotesting youth I decided to come myself to you. I fully stand with the you and express my commitment to continue working for your interests.”

Chief Minister claimed that his government recruited and inducted more than 25,000 people in a transparent manner with no complaints ever raised.

However one lone case has seen an issue cropped in. “State government is committed to removing every doubt and suspicion from the minds of the youths. Last week when a delegation of the youths met me I made it clear that government doesn’t want any misunderstanding and doubt to continue in their minds. That’s the reason I came straight to the Parade Ground” said Dhami.

Dhami also expressed his commitment to withdraw cases against protesting youths who appeared in the examination and came on the road to battled the paper leak. “If any case was registered against the agitating youths who took UKSSSC examination, it will be withdrawan” said the chief minister.

However, on protesting students” demand for cancellation of paper leaked UKSSSC examination held on September 21 Dhami said it will decided with positive view by the retired judge of High Court Justic UC Dhyani, UKSSSC and SIT probing the matter.

Striking an emotional note with the agitators chief minister said youth and students of Uttarakhand prepare for government jobs after completing studies with dream for a good life. Chief minister stated that he had similar experiences and worked closely with students and the youths to understand their struggles.

On stop protest against UKSSSC paper leak matter had been going on for the last seven days after the incident on September 21.

Three pages of graduation level UKSSSC examination for recruiting Patwaris and BDOs were leaked be one of the candidates Khalid who was subsequently arrested along with his sister by the police.
