Amit Sharma alias Jackie Pandit, active gangster of the infamous Lawrence Vishnoi gang, who presently is working for the Rohit Godara gang, has been detained by US agencies in America on requisition from the CBI Interpol Branch.
Additional Director General of Rajasthan Police (Crime & AGTF) Dinesh MN said here on Tuesday that Jackie, a notorious criminal, was presently working for the Rohit Godara gang from various foreign locations. From abroad, he indulged in raising finances for the gang by way of extortions or other such means and was sending funds back home in India to gang members.
He was also arranging shelter, hideouts, and money in different countries for members of the gang who fled from India, the ADGP said.
The Anti Gangster Task Force and CBI were behind him since his initial days in crime when he was active in the Lawrence Vishnoi gang. However, presently, the campaign against him was stepped up on directives from Deputy Inspector General-CID(CB) Deepak Bhargava, who deputed an AGTF team of cops to nab him.
The team received information that Jackie had recently reached the US after travelling through Dubai, Spain, and a few other countries.
Acting on the tip-off, the CBI Interpol Branch contacted the US security agencies through the Red Corner Notice for action against him. The US authorities have detained him, and now AGTF and the CBI are working to seek his deportation to India, ADGP Dinesh said.
