After lagging behind in earlier stages, the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) in Uttar Pradesh is picking up with now 48% of the electorate’s enumeration forms digitized so far.
State Chief Electoral Officer( CEO) Navdeep Rinwa informed here on Thursday that the digitization of enumeration forms under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) is progressing rapidly in the state.
“Till date, digitization of enumeration forms for 7.34 crore (approximately 48 percent) voters in the state has been completed, ” he said.
There are a total of over 15.44 crore voters of almost 100% enumeration forms have been distributed.
He further informed that booth-level officers are continuously digitizing the received enumeration forms. All voters are urged to fill out their counting forms as soon as possible, affix a recent passport-sized photograph, and provide it to their BLO, he said.
The CEO informed that more than 50% digitization work has been completed in the districts of Auraiya, Ambedkar Nagar, Chitrakoot, Barabanki, Pilibhit, Saharanpur, Amroha, Moradabad, Basti, Rampur, Chandauli, Sant Kabir Nagar, Siddharth Nagar, Bareilly, Azamgarh, Firozabad and Etah, which is commendable.
The CEO directed the District Electoral Officers( DEO) to encourage BLOs and deploy additional skilled personnel at the booths where progress is relatively low. To speed up the collection of enumeration forms in urban areas, the help of geographically knowledgeable NCC, NSS, voluntary organizations and personnel of urban bodies should also be taken.
