An important meeting of the Uttar Pradesh Congress Political Affairs Committee concluded on Thursday at the state Congress headquarters in Lucknow.
The meeting discussed the strategy and organisational strength for the 2027 Assembly elections in detail.
Present at the meeting were State In-charge Rajendra Pal Gautam, State Congress President Ajay Rai, National Secretary Dheeraj Gurjar, Rajesh Tiwari, and Tauqeer Alam.
MPs KL Sharma, Tanuj Punia and Ujjwal Raman Singh, former state president Brajlal Khabari, MLA Virendra Chaudhary, former MP Danish Ali, former MLC Deepak Singh and Vivek Bansal also attended the meeting.
Former MLA Sanjay Kapoor, former MLA Bhagwati Chaudhary, former minister Nakul Dubey, Mamta Chaudhary, Shehla Aharari, Dr Pramod Pandey, Karishma Kapoor and other committee leaders were also present.
According to party sources, the meeting focused on strengthening the organisation at the district and booth levels, intensifying street protests on public issues, and holding preliminary discussions on seat-sharing within the INDIA bloc.
The State In-charge directed all leaders to increase their grassroots outreach and connect with the public.
In view of the 2027 Assembly elections, the Congress is now holding frequent core committee meetings. The party’s focus is on wooing Dalit, backward, and minority voters.
