In a major push for Uttar Pradesh’s industrial and economic progress, Amrit Bottlers, a flagship company of SLMG Group and an authorised manufacturer for Coca-Cola, performed the Bhoomi Pujan ceremony for its new bottling plant in Gorakhpur Industrial Development Area (GIDA).
The ceremony, graced by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday, marks the launch of a state-of-the-art facility set to drive economic growth and job creation in the region.
Chief Minister Adityanath, after the bhoomi pujan, lauded Amrit Bottlers for its role in Uttar Pradesh’s industrial transformation. He noted that such initiatives align with the state’s efforts to attract major brands, turning Gorakhpur into an industrial hub. The plant’s emphasis on sustainability, including energy-efficient operations, supports Uttar Pradesh’s goal of balancing growth with environmental care. The state’s investor-friendly policies and enhanced connectivity have made GIDA a magnet for industries, the CM added.
Spanning 40 acres with an investment of Rs 700 crore, the new plant set up in Sector 27, is poised to create additional direct and indirect employment for over 2000 individuals. Notably, SLMG currently supports over 79,000 direct and indirect employment opportunities across the entire value chain (manufacturing, sales, distribution, services) and has a direct workforce of over 5,000 employees.
With a capacity of 2,900 bottles per minute, the new Gorakhpur plant will add to the existing 21,082 bpm across SLMG’s seven operational plants in Uttar Pradesh, boosting the total daily Coca-Cola bottling capacity from 3.03 crore to 3.46 crore bottles, strengthening the supply chain, and uplifting the local economy.
The project underlines Amrit Bottlers’ 10th plant of SLMG across UP and Bihar, a commitment to sustainable practices and industrial progress, positioning Uttar Pradesh as a prime destination for investment.

The Gorakhpur facility is in sync with SLMG Beverages’ ambitious plan to invest up to USD 1 billion by 2030 to expand production across Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.
