UP CM discusses 4,204 development projects worth Rs 41,000 crore with public representatives from Lucknow division

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath held a meeting with public representatives from the Lucknow division at his official residence late Wednesday night to discuss the Public Works Department’s action plan for the financial year 2026-27.

At the meeting, the public representatives from Lucknow, Hardoi, Rae Bareli, Unnao, Sitapur, and Lakhimpur Kheri districts briefed the Chief Minister on the newly-proposed major projects, basic needs, and public expectations in their areas.

The Chief Minister said that public representatives have a deep understanding of the needs of their areas. Their experience is crucial in formulating government plans and their effective implementation.

He directed that the proposals received be prioritized and action plans be sent to the government as soon as possible, so that they can be approved and work can begin by the end of this month.

During the meeting, the Chief Minister was informed that 4,204 development proposals with an estimated cost of approximately ₹41,229 crore have been received from various development blocks across all districts of the Lucknow division.

The Chief Minister said that the suggestions of public representatives should be taken seriously and these projects should be completed in a phased manner based on the priorities they have set. He directed that all works should be completed with quality and within the stipulated timeframe.

The Chief Minister said that all districts and assembly constituencies in the division have their own historical, cultural, and social characteristics. A lot of work has been done in recent years to strengthen these characteristics. Ongoing projects in every district and assembly constituency of the division should be regularly reviewed.

The Chief Minister said that a clear action plan, timeliness, continuous dialogue, and regular feedback are essential for the completion of development projects. The state government is sensitive to all issues related to public interest and is committed to implementing the suggestions and demands of public representatives on a priority basis.

Yogi said that during project construction, those affected should be systematically rehabilitated and adequate compensation should be provided.

Directing the Public Works Department, the Chief Minister directed that proposals submitted by public representatives regarding roads under the Chief Minister’s Gram Sadak Yojana, state highways, major bridges, minor bridges, ROBs, RUBs, roads to charitable sites, flyover construction, and road safety should be processed expeditiously, based on priority.

He directed that the four-lane district headquarters, sugar mill roads, single-connectivity roads, and black spot improvement projects be completed 100%.

During the meeting, the Chief Minister also reviewed the Public Works Department’s ongoing projects. He was informed that 3,238 projects have been completed, while the remaining projects are in various stages of construction.

The Chief Minister directed that the remaining projects be completed expeditiously. He said that strict action should be taken against officials who are delaying work or have not yet begun work.

The Chief Minister said that timely, coordinated, and transparent action should be ensured on all issues raised by public representatives. Public representatives should perform groundbreaking ceremonies and lay the foundation stones for projects. Any unnecessary delay or laxity in implementing development plans will not be tolerated.
