Newly-elected UP President of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Union Minister of State for Finance Pankaj Choudhary on Thursday, the second day of his two-day visit of Varanasi, said there were many errors in the MGNREGA Bill.
He said, “According to Viksit Bharat-Gram Rural Employment Guarantee Program 2025 (G Ram G), you will get 125 days of work legally. A provision has also been made for unemployment allowance in case of non-availability of work. The payment system has been improved. Rs 8 lakh crore will be spent under this scheme in the next five years. This scheme will develop the villages of India. Only then by 2047 the dream of developed India will be fulfilled.”
“G Ram G is a surgical strike against corruption,” he claimed.
Speaking to media persons here on Thursday, Pankaj Choudhary said, “In the previous governments, out of one rupee, only 15 paise used to reach the beneficiary. Now, all the money will reach. As for the Congress, it ran schemes in the name of its family members.”
Defending the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of voter list, he said, “The SIR is not for the first time, but the eighth time. It is the duty of the Election Commission of India (ECI) to conduct the exercise. It is our job to take this work to the ground. It is true that the names of 2. 89 crore people have not been included in the draft list of the first phase. There are 1.28 crore dispaced voters. All the workers have been asked to check the draft list at the booth level whether the voters have relocated or not! Those who are missing, they should be connected after completing the process.”
On the upcoming budget of the Modi government, the UP BJP president said it belongs to the common man. “This time, the budget will also be of the common man.”
Targeting the Samajwadi Party (SP), Chaudhary said the SP should first decide what is the meaning of PDA. Some times the meaning of P changes, at others the meaning of A.
“The BJP is a party of entire society. The SP is a caste-based party. Any choice is challenging. The worker of the BJP is ready for every challenge. Party worker works for 365 days and lives among the public,” he said.
