The district authorities on Tuesday demolished the luxurious house of Jamaluddin alias Chhangur, the mastermind of conversion and anti-national activities in Madhpur area in Balrampur.
Jamaluddin was arrested along with three others a few days back by the UP STF on charges of forced conversion and terror activities.
Security forces had unearthed around Rs 100 crore illegal transactions from Gulf countries and Pakistan received by Jamaluddin and his accomplices. UP ATS is investigating the terror angle of the accused, who is now under police custody.
Sources here said two bulldozers were used to demolish the bungalow of Jamaluddin worth over several crores of rupees. The team had to break the gate to enter the house as it was locked and no one was ready to open it.
An eviction notice was pasted on the gate of the house by the authorities last evening, saying that it was constructed on illegal land and it would be demolished.
Police Circle Officer Utraula Raghavendra Singh, along with other officials, were present during the demolition process. Jamaluddin’s daughter-in-law, Sabira, who came out for the first time, accused the administration of scaring the children, who were scared of the police action.
On bulldozer action on Jamaluddin’s house, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that “Our government is fully committed to the dignity and security of sisters and daughters. Initial investigation has revealed that the activities of the accused Jalaluddin were not only anti-social but also anti-national. The UP government will not tolerate any kind of laxity regarding law and order. The assets of the accused and all the criminals associated with his gang will be confiscated. Strict legal action will be taken against them.”
The CM, while posting on X, further wrote that “there is no place for those who break peace, harmony, and women’s safety in the state. They will be punished according to the law, which became an example for society.”
