Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, who will celebrate his birthday on November 8 (Saturday), received an unusual yet meaningful gift on Friday — a 57-kilogram rice portrait, symbolizing both his age and his government’s flagship free rice scheme for the poor.
Telangana Fisheries Development Corporation Chairman Mettu Saikumar came up with the creative gesture to honour the Chief Minister, who turned 57. The portrait, made entirely of rice grains, was presented as a token of gratitude for the state’s initiative to ensure food security for underprivileged families.
Saikumar said the gift represents the Chief Minister’s commitment to feeding the poor and acknowledged his efforts through the free rice distribution scheme. He wished Revanth Reddy a long and happy life, “just as he continues to bring joy and nourishment to countless families across Telangana.”
