Two heavily armed Pakistani terrorists were on Saturday gunned down by security forces who foiled an infiltration bid in the Keran Sector of North Kashmir’s Kupwara district.
Troops of the Chinar Corps of the Indian Army launched a joint ‘Operation Pimple’ on Friday following specific intelligence input from agencies, regarding an infiltration attempt.

Contact was established, and the terrorists were trapped after alert troops spotted suspicious activity and challenged, which resulted in the terrorists opening indiscriminate fire.
The terrorists were neutralised during a heavy exchange of fire. Search of the area is in progress, said the Chinar Corps.
The Northern Command of the Indian Army has geared up vigil along the Line of Control (LOC) as Pakistani agencies were making attempts to push in trained terrorists before the mountain passes get blocked with snow.
“As winter deepens and the mountains turn into endless white, in freezing heights and silent glaciers, our soldiers stand ‘Always In Combat’ — guarding the Nation with resilience, unity, and unwavering resolve. They remain our shields in the snow,” wrote the Northern Command on X.
A joint search operation was also continuing in the Chattru area of Kishtwar, where hiding terrorists injured a paratrooper of the special forces.
It is suspected that the group of three terrorists might have escaped after a brief exchange of fire with the security forces.
