After several Bajrang Dal and Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) activists laid seige of a dairy in Bhopal on Friday, The police detained two men in connection with alleged cow slaughter as a large quantity of meat, suspected to be of cow, was seized from an autorickshaw at the dairy.
The incident occured in the Nishatpura area at around 3 am. According to Nishatpura police station In-charge Manoj Patwa, the police received information about the ruckus outside a dairy. On reaching the spot, the police found a large number of Hindu activists claiming that they witnessed a cow being slaughtered by five Muslim men inside the dairy.
Although the police have not yet confirmed the allegations of cow slaughter, a police team did find suspected meat in large quantity kept inside a CNG Auto (MP 04 WD 0775). They also seized some body parts of an animal, ropes and sharp-edged weapons from the Auto.
The police official said that the meat and body parts have been sent to a laboratory for forensic examination.
Meanwhile, the Hindu activists named five Muslim men as accused in the matter, Aziz, Arif, Zuber, Farmaan and another person.
The police detained Aziz and Arif, while others managed to flee the spot. A search is on to nab the absconding accused.
The police have registered an FIR in the case, and further investigations are on in the matter.
