In a major update in the ongoing investigation into the alleged suicide of model-actor Twisha Sharma, a team of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Monday, June 1, reached her mother-in-law Giribala Singh’s residence in Madhya Pradesh’s Bhopal with a human-sized dummy for recreating the crime scene linked to her death on May 12.
According to IANS, the central agency officials arrived at Giribala’s house in Katara Hills to verify the sequence of events. They even investigated whether the statements given by the accused matched the evidence collected in the case.
At the time of recreation of the scene, forensic experts remained present on the spot. As per reports, the officials examined several key aspects, such as body positioning, ligature points, height measurements, and the layout of the room.
This comes days after Twisha’s family members immersed her ashes in the Ganga river flowing through Rishikesh. She allegedly died by suicide on May 12, barely months after her marriage to Samarth Singh.

Twisha’s last rites were performed on May 24, only after a team from AIIMS Delhi conducted a second post-mortem, following an order by the Madhya Pradesh High Court.
As part of their investigation, CBI is comparing the statements of witness with forensic findings gathered from the spot. They also brought Giribala Singh to the scene of the crime.
With the probe expanding to multiple aspects connected to the case, CBI is even expected to talk to doctors and mental health professionals, who interacted with Twisha Sharma before her death.
Notably, the central agency has already summoned the doctor who reportedly advised Twisha to undergo an abortion.
Further, they have gathered key information regarding Samarth Singh’s movements after an FIR was registered on May 15.
Earlier, it was reported that Samarth remained in Bhopal for around three days after the case was lodged as he was not able to immediately leave the city. The team of CBI is examining his activities during that period.
CBI officials are looking into phone records, locations that he visited as wel as the people he contacted while allegedly absconding. Moreover, they are finding out whether he received any assistance during that time.
Samarth Singh and his mother Giribala Singh continue to remain in CBI custody till June 2 and are expected to be produced before a court on Tuesday.
The case was transferred to the central agency after major allegations of lapses in the initial investigation.
