Delhi Police have arrested six more individuals in connection with the Faiz-e-Elahi Masjid stone-pelting case following the removal of encroachments near Turkman Gate, taking the total arrests to eleven.
Five accused, namely Mohd Kaif, Kasif, Areeb, Adnan and Sameer, were arrested yesterday and produced before the Tis Hazari Court, which granted them one-day judicial custody. Today, they were produced again before the court for further proceedings. The Court has sent the five accused to judicial custody for 13 days. The bail pleas of all the accused have been listed for hearing on 09 January.
Masked men pelted stones
The police have also released the video of the night of the stone pelting incident that took place near the Old Delhi mosque on 6 January. Masked individuals can be seen in the Turkman Gate area in the first CCTV footage released by the police. The stone pelters have hidden their faces and run away from the spot of violence after the police come into action.

DCP Nidhin Valsan confirmed six more people were arrested based on the CCTV camera and intelligence. She further stated that the majority of the arrested are aged between 20 and 30 years.

Social media used to create unrest
Delhi police have shortlisted ten names who influenced people on social media to stir up tension in the area. Notably, a notice will be issued to YouTuber Salman for allegedly attempting to create unrest through social media by calling locals to gather in huge number. Reportedly, he will be summoned for questioning by Delhi Police.
DCP Nidhin Valsan said, “Those who used social media to influence events, our team has prepared a list of 10 profiles, including one named Salman. These posts have received significant views and contain calls to action. Based on this, the social media team is conducting an analysis.”
Further investigation is underway.

Intel warned police of potential violence
Delhi Police has confirmed that it had advance inputs about possible protests during the Turkman demolition drive. An alert was issued by the Intelligence Unit to the Delhi Police, warning about the presence of anti-national elements in the locality.
As a precautionary measure, heavy deployment of police forces from five districts had already been done at Turkman Gate.
Earlier today, senior police officers conducted a security inspection in the Turkman Gate area to ensure the law and order situation. Security arrangements were assessed by Joint Commissioner of Police Madhur
