Congress national President Mallikarjun Kharge on Monday hailed the UDF victory in the Kerala Assembly Elections 2026, saying “true welfare and real economic empowerment” will begin in the state now.

In back-to-back social media posts on X, Kharge extended his heartfelt gratitude to every voter of Kerala for placing their trust in the Congress-led UDF.

The Congress chief also thanked party leaders, workers and UDF allies, saying it is their relentless hard work and dedication that have earned the people’s mandate.

“We remain firmly committed to restoring the lost glory of Kerala and the UDF’s people-centric governance model. I congratulate all our party workers for their tireless and dedicated efforts during these elections,” he said.

The Congress national president, however, described the election results as a “mixed bag”, noting the party humiliating defeats in several other states, including West Bengal and Assam.

He reminded party workers that the Congress is fighting an ideological battle and will need patience and unwavering resolve.

“The results have been a mixed bag. Our party has always chosen the path of truth, justice, and inclusivity. While the journey may be challenging, we remain steadfast in our commitment to serve the people and protect the core values of our democracy,” he said.

“Let us move forward with renewed determination and continue our struggle with unity and purpose,” the Congress leader concluded.
