A major accident was averted after a trainee aircraft made an emergency landing shortly after take-off from Dhanipur Airport on Sunday.
According to the police, the training aircraft suddenly developed a technical snag, forcing the pilots to make an emergency landing near the Jalali area. Fortunately, both pilots on board escaped unhurt.
Reports said the aircraft belonged to a private aviation training company and was on a routine training sortie.
Around 11 am, the pilots detected a technical problem mid-flight and displayed remarkable presence of mind by landing the aircraft safely.
News of the incident spread quickly, triggering panic in the surrounding area, while a large number of people gathered at the spot.
Upon receiving information, police and administrative officials, including City Magistrate Atul Gupta, rushed to the scene. They inspected the aircraft and gathered details about the incident.
Preliminary investigations suggest that a technical fault led to the emergency landing. The administration has launched a detailed probe into the matter.
