In the last few years, the number of tourists coming from India and abroad to major tourism destinations of Uttar Pradesh, including Kashi, Mathura, Agra, Ayodhya and Prayagraj, has increased significantly.

In this sequence, Uttar Pradesh State Tourism Development Corporation (UPSTDC) is constructing Rahi Tourist Lodges in various districts of the state.

Officials here on Sunday said that, along with this, renovation and beautification of existing lodges is also being carried out. The objective is to provide better accommodation and food facilities to tourists at major tourism destinations of the state, as well as newly developed religious, cultural and eco tourism sites.

The tourism department is constructing 11 Rahi Tourist lodges/bungalows in various districts. These will be developed under the public-private partnership model. Rahi tourist bungalows will be constructed in Gokulgaon in Mathura, Bateshwar in Agra, Soron in Kasganj and Sitapur.
