Trinamool Congress leader Abhishek Banerjee Monday extended wishes to everyone celebrating Chhath Puja, a festival that embodies the spirit of faith, purity, and devotion.

The festival of Chhath Puja is a significant occasion in the Indian calendar, celebrated with great fervor and enthusiasm. It is a time for people to come to seek blessings, offer prayers, and celebrate the spirit of devotion and gratitude.

The West Bengal government has declared October 27 and 28 as public holidays for Chhath Puja, continuing the practice followed in 2023 when the Chief Minister had announced a two-day holiday for the festival.The Kolkata Municipal Corporation is scheduled to hold a ceremonial programme for the inauguration of Chhath Puja at Takta Ghat and Doi Ghat on the eastern bank of the Hooghly at 4 pm. District venues of Chhath Puja will be virtually connected to Kolkata, where Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee will inaugurate the programme.The Kolkata Municipal Corporation has made arrangements for lighting, security, and waste disposal at the ghats to ensure a smooth and safe festival.
