The Haryana Teacher Eligibility Test (HTET) commenced across 19 districts of the state on Saturday amid elaborate security arrangements, with candidates undergoing stringent screening procedures at examination centres before the Level-3 (PGT) examination.
Entry to examination centres began around 12:30 pm, while candidates were required to complete verification well before the examination, which was conducted from 3 pm to 5:30 pm. Several aspirants reported extensive security checks, including the removal of jewellery and personal accessories in accordance with examination guidelines.
At several centres, female candidates were asked to untie their hair, remove earrings, nose pins, bangles, hair bands, sacred threads (kalava), footwear and socks before entering the examination halls. In Jhajjar, candidates were also instructed to remove the plastic label from water bottles before being allowed inside. The entry gates were closed at 2 pm, prompting many candidates to rush to their centres at the last moment.
In a notable incident from Fatehabad district, a candidate identified as Nisha from Tohana sought assistance after getting delayed on her way to the examination centre. According to officials, the Dial-112 emergency response team reached her location at Ratia bus stand and ensured she was transported to MM College, Fatehabad, within about 30 minutes, enabling her to appear for the examination on time.
