Remember the famous race between Michael Schumacher in a Ferrari F1 race car and a Eurofighter Typhoon fighter jet? Schumacher defeated Eurofighter Typhoon in one of the three duels they had in 2003.

The memory of that race was refreshed when the Indian Navy deployed its frontline fighter, MiG-29K, against Lamborghini Huracan, one of the world’s fastest sports cars with a top speed of 320 km per hour.

In a video which has now gone viral on the Internet, an Indian Navy MiG-29K is seen racing against a dark blue Lamborghini Huracan at Indian Navy’s INS Hansa air station near Goa’s Dabolim.

The fighter jet, which reportedly belongs to the Black Panther squadron of the Indian Navy, is seen in a neck-to-neck race against the Lamborghini on the runway.

The sprint ends with the Indian Navy MiG-29K easily beating the Lamborghini in spite of the aerodynamics which forces any fighter jet to take off from ground quickly.

Take a look at the thrilling encounter posted by Air Marshal Anil Chopra (Retd) on Twitter.

According to reports, the Indian Navy granted permission for the race in a bid to attract the youth to the force, especially the aviation wing. The Times of India reported that the shoot was conducted for a magazine.

While the MiG-29K is a Russian made 4++ generation fighter jet, the Huracan is one of the latest supercars from the stable of Italian auto giant Lamborghini.

Indian Navy has 45 MiG-29Ks in its fleet, most of which are deployed on India’s lone aircraft carrier INS Vikramaditya. The fighter has a cruising speed of 1,500 km per hour. But in spite of its formidability, the MiG-29K has been in the news for wrong reasons.

In January this year, a MiG-29K veered off the runway at Dabolim and crashed. The pilot had, however, ejected to safety.
