Congress president Rahul Gandhi, on the 27th death anniversary of his father and former Prime Minister of India Rajiv Gandhi, took to Twitter to share a post saying “My father taught me that hate is a prison for those who carry it”

In his tweet, Rahul Gandhi said, “Today, on his death anniversary, I thank him for teaching me to love and respect all beings, the most valuable gifts a father can give a son”.

“Rajiv Gandhi, those of us that love you hold you forever in our hearts”, added Rahul Gandhi.

Rahul Gandhi, along with mother Sonia Gandhi and sister Priyanka Gandhi paid floral tributes at Rajiv Gandhi’s samadhi Veer Bhumi in New Delhi on Monday morning.

Rajiv Gandhi was the sixth Prime Minister of India holding office from 1984 to 1989. He took charge after the assassination of his mother, Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, in 1984 to become the youngest Indian Prime Minister at the age of 40.
