Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who had been on a two-day official visit to Bhutan, landed in the capital on Wednesday afternoon and immediately headed to Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Narayan (LNJP) Hospital, a release from his office said.
There, he met the victims of the deadly blast that rocked central Delhi near the Red Fort metro station on Monday evening, claiming 13 lives and injuring 24 others.
During his visit, the Prime Minister interacted with the injured, offering words of comfort and wishing them a swift recovery. He was briefed by hospital officials and a team of doctors about the medical condition of the patients and the treatment being provided. PM Modi expressed his deep concern over the incident, reiterating that the nation stands with the affected families during this difficult time.
“Went to LNJP Hospital and met those injured during the blast in Delhi. Praying for everyone’s quick recovery. Those behind the conspiracy will be brought to justice!,” the prime minister said in a post on X.
The blast occurred in a parked i20 car at a traffic signal near the historic Red Fort. Investigations are being led by the National Investigation Agency (NIA), with several arrests already made in connection with the case.
Earlier, yesterday, while addressing a gathering in Thimphu, PM Modi had condemned the attack, stating that the perpetrators would not be spared. Following his hospital visit, he is scheduled to chair a Cabinet Committee on Security meeting to review the situation and further direct the investigative efforts.
