Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Anand Dubey today fired back at All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) party for the “paint Mumbra green” remarks by one of its leaders, saying that “India has and will always remain saffron”.
Expressing his disapproval for the “green ideology”, Dubey referred to it as “an extremist ideology, an ideology that harbours sentiments that Pakistan and Bangladesh possess.” He said, “This country was saffron yesterday, it is saffron today, and it will remain saffron tomorrow. There is no objection to green (colour). But we have animosity towards their green ideology. We have always opposed this.”

He asserted that their party will not let AIMIM turn even a single street green in Mumbra. He said, “Forget Mumbra, even a single street in Mumbra will find it difficult to turn green. Because this is a new India. Just as the hoods of green snakes are crushed, this country will crush these green snakes but will never allow any greenness to prevail,” Dubey added.
UBT Sena leader also called it a hidden political drama between the BJP and the AIMIM, accusing them of inciting each other. He added that BJP nurtures and promotes AIMIM. Dubey said that Shiv Sainiks come forward to neutralise their venom and expressed confidence in eliminating it.
This comes as a fiery response to the earlier statement by AIMIM corporator Sahar Shaikh that the party would “make the entire state green” in the near future. Party leader Imtiaz Jaleel had supported the remark. He said, “In the coming time, we will make the entire state green. The statement given by Sahar is the party’s statement. We told Sahar that we do not want to apologise in any way.”
