Terrorists’ hideout busted, firearms, Chinese grenades recovered

A joint team of the Army and the Jammu & Kashmir Police, on Wednesday, busted a terrorist hideout in the Poonch district and recovered a cache of arms, ammunition and Chinese grenades.

A defence spokesman said that based on intelligence inputs about the presence of a warlike storehouse, an operation was launched by the Indian Army and JKP in the upper reaches of village Nabana in Surankote, district Poonch.

During the search, a cache of arms and ammunition including an AK47 rifle, an AK56 rifle, 7 AK magazines, one pistol, five Chinese grenades and 69 bullets of 7.62 mm were recovered from the hideout.

The operation is still in progress, said the spokesman.
