Leader of the Opposition in Bihar Assembly, Tejashwi Prasad Yadav will begin the ‘Bihar Adhikar Yatra’ from Jehanabad on September 16.

In the first phase, the Yatra will pass through Jehanabad, Nalanda, Patna, Begusarai, Khagaria, Madhepura, Saharsa, Supaul, Samastipur, and Ujiarpur districts of Bihar. It will conclude in Vaishali on 20 September.

The RJD leader’s ‘Bihar Adhikar Yatra’ aims to build on the momentum generated by the ‘Voter Adhikar Yatra’ and further strengthen the party’s mass support ahead of the Bihar Assembly elections.

Tejashwi Yadav, along with other top leaders of the INDIA bloc, had joined Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s ‘Vote Adhikar Yatra’ in Bihar. The Yatra covered 1,300 kilometres across Bihar before it concluded in Patna on 1 September.

RJD State General Secretary Ranvijay Sahu said that during the yatra, public dialogues will be organised at designated locations within the respective assembly constituencies, where party workers and the general public will actively participate.

Party state spokesperson Ejaz Ahmed said that the Yatra will focus on Bihar’s rights, the injustices and discriminatory treatment by the central government, as well as issues like development, unemployment, inflation, education, healthcare, and voter rights.

He added that the double-engine government has not shown seriousness on fundamental issues such as employment, farmers’ problems, and education-healthcare. During the Yatra, Tejashwi will raise these issues among the public and expose the NDA government’s policies.
